Patrick K. Setzer ’90 ’98 on why he gives

As a 24-year member of the Appalachian faculty and staff family, I have always been impressed and humbled by the giving nature of my colleagues on campus. It seems that “when a need arises,” Appalachian faculty and staff respond with open minds and open hearts. I am very proud of this fact and I trust that you are as well. The university will soon celebrate the culmination of a multi-year comprehensive campaign that has, at the heart of it, been about protecting and enhancing the Appalachian Experience. While I know that this Appalachian Experience is different from one individual to the next, I believe it’s intrinsically a positive, healthy, and memorable experience.
